I am curious about language and fascinated by the meaning of words. A phrase that seems to come up in conversations is “I feel stressed.” What does that mean? It can mean different things for different people. We are all unique. For me it is a feeling of tension in my body combined with a feeling of uncertainty.
Stress can appear in many forms. It can appear as a daily, constant feeling or thought – “I am stressed.” Or “Life is stressful.” These types of phrases can become habits. One way of addressing these thoughts is to ask yourself “When am I not stressed?” You may be pleasantly surprised to come up with a long list of times of when you are not stressed. This can be the first step towards coping with stress.
Hypnotherapy sessions are a great way to identify and explore how stress is affecting you. My own personal experience with hypnotherapy has helped me understand how I have dealt with stress in the past and present. It has helped me build my understanding, tools and future resilience in relation to stress.
